Unexpected defeat for our NVL ladies

Reading aces travelled to Cardiff to face the Falcons. They took the lead at the start of the match, leading 8-4 at the first technical timeout which we held through to the later part of the set (16-14 at the second technical timeout) however too many errors allowed The Falcons to take the set narrowly 25-27.

Set two saw an even more determined Reading commanding an early lead (8-5 at the first technical timeout) and with strong serving and hitting from everyone on the team moved further ahead leading 16-9 at the second technical timeout. Sadly, towards the end of the set strong serving from the Falcons meant the set slipped away 20-25.

Set three the momentum was strongly in the Falcons favour who took an early lead 5-8 and increased this to 8-16 by the technical timeout and ran away with the set 12-25.

Congratulations to Rachel Steinitz who was our well-deserved most valuable player.

Our next match is tomorrow at Kendrick School 12:30 start- spectators are welcome!
