Congratulations to all of our teams played last weekend. A short summary below 🏐🏐🏐.
Juniors A coached by Dustin secured 2 good wins over 2 good teams,. The team played and communicated well during the first pretty straightforward match against Basingstoke. Our team used their service and overall skills advantage winning in straight sets (18:25, 16:25). The second game was different as Mavericks team has very good individual hitters and our team suddenly felt the pressure. The first set went to Mavericks 20-25 as our team was stunned and kept quiet throughout. In the second set they started to show their grit and resilience and fought back to 25-19 to even the match to 1 set all. The third set ended 9-15 and it was more a formality as our players experience and better serving got them through the tough match! Our Juniors are looking forward to tougher matches ahead.
Juniors B coached by Dave were less lucky although still managed to win one set of Basingstoke Hornets 1-2 (25-15, 19-25, 15-9). Farnborough Wolves vs RAVC finished in favour of a strong opposition 2-0 (25-4, 25:8).
Men 1 are safely through to the next round of National Shield after beating Worthing. Andrei made his debut and it was first time father and son Cutchon played together as teammates in an official match. Next meeting is against Guildford International, on 3rd December.
Mixed 1 still remains on top of Division 1, with 1 out of 2 wins beating convincingly Maidenhead in straight sets (11-25, 11-25). Unfortunately, they suffered a tough 1-2 loss to Oxford Globetrotters (28:30, 25:13, 9:15).
Newly formed Mixed 2 lost both of their away games against Newbury 25:13, 25-7 and playing much better in the second game against Spikeopaths Mixed 3 (16:25, 10:25).
Well done to all. Another busy weekend is coming up featuring three teams:

- – BVA Ladies away playing at Wren school starting at 14:00 against Spikoepaths and Oxford Falcons
